The name Elara connotes astronomy and Greek mythology, and its geometric design mimicks the trajectory of the planets within the universe. Inspired by astral motion, the lamp is characterised by two metal rings, one of which can be set at various angles to produce fluidity and movement, as well as a small sphere at the bottom of the lamp that contains the light source.   The light source emits a glow that can illuminate an entire room. Additionally, users can direct the bi-emission sphere – up or down – according to the need for light. The two sources have different light emissions: 2100 lumens and 800 lumens for the 2700 K version or 2260 lumens and 845 lumens for the 3000 K. Simon wanted to create an as fluid motion as possible, which immediately lead him to the sphere. A sphere has so many fantastic attributes. With a sphere as a joint they are no limited directions, it has no left or right, no top or bottom. So with the sphere as the defining element of this piece, everything else “revolved“ around it. The geometry, the balance, the friction. It all comes down to the sphere, visually pointing at it. The end result is an object that seems to be moved by the wind. It revolves effortless around it’s centerpiece, like planets orbiting around each other. With AARO, inspired by Aaron’s rod, the magician Simon Schmitz makes his lamp levitate. The shape of Sky–Fall captures the imagination in its reminiscence of ancient decanters in precious blown glass. Its function amazes thanks to the innovative double LED source that diffuses direct and indirect light. Available in two sizes and in four finishes, and in 2700 or 3000 K* light colour temperature versions, Sky–Fall decorates both when it is on and when it is off. Now added to the family is the new Sky-Fall Round: a further variant featuring a spherically shaped diffuser available in two sizes and four finishes, including the new, precious golden sage. The new finish also extends to Sky-Fall in both sizes. Blowing into a metal form produces a graceful giant that is a testimony to human ingenuity and top-level craftsmanship. Although this creation is a dominant element in any interior, the clear version feels both light and airy. Its honey-golden version then fills the interior with a pleasant ambient light. The Blimp Collection is the result of BOMMA’s first international collaboration with a team of Swiss designers who masterminded it upon their first experience with designing glass. The success of this double premier exceeded all expectations.
